The katsu sandwich was pretty good, perfectly fried, as well as the French fries. Fries are like a combination of Carl's Jr waffle fries and Jack n the box curly fries. I didn't really like the brioche bread, it wasn't soft, texture was like old white bread, but the regular bread looked pretty good. The sandwich is pretty big too. Coleslaw is pretty standard.
Easy parking, food was quick, service is good. Bathroom is oddly huge for one person at a time.
Update:
Everything is mostly self serve now. Kiosk to order and pay (you can still pay with cash), beverages are self serve, including water, and to go boxes are also self serve. Servers come out to bring food, condiments, and other stuff from the kitchen.
I actually like it this way.
I tried the Pork Katsu plate, I liked it, I just think it needed more curry.

It was our first time going to Katsu Bar. I love it when the whole family has an awesome experience. Our server Kelly was great, attentive, and accommodating.
The food was fantastic. My kids got sandos, and we adults enjoyed the curry plate and the katsu with upon. We got the cauliflower appetizer. We were also happy with our choices. My son is a pretty picky eatter, and Kelly helped us to make modifications to his sando and was more than happy to do so. The kids declared that they want to come back every day.
Thank you, Katsu Bar, for having such tasty food. Also, thank you, Kelly, for giving us such a wonderful first experience. See you soon!

I recently visited the new location of Katsubar in Torrance and I have to say, it was an absolute delight! I tried their featured item, the katsu sando with beef, and it was simply amazing. The katsu was crispy and juicy, and the bread was soft and fresh. I also tried the egg sando which was equally delicious. In addition, the curry dip was very flavorful and added a nice touch to the meal.
One thing that really stood out to me was the quality of the food given the price. It was definitely worth every penny, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a delicious meal without breaking the bank. Moreover, the restaurant was very clean since it just opened, which is always a plus.
Overall, Katsubar is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The food is high quality, delicious, and reasonably priced, and the restaurant is clean and welcoming. This will be my favorite in this area!!

Delicious katsu sandos and tempura! Everything is fried lightly to a perfect crisp, not overly heavy or oily at all. We cleaned our plates; it was so delicious. Highly recommend getting your katsu sandos with the curry dip, the curry is well seasoned and a perfect consistency.
Service was lovely. Our server brought us the mushrooms on the house because they didn’t have my first choice order. She was so sweet, explained the dishes to us when we asked, and everything came out quickly after we ordered! Absolutely a great lunch spot but probably an even better evening snack spot with friends. 10/10 would go back another time! 🍛💖

Stumbled across this place when we tried to go to Gyu-Kaku across the way and at 4pm they gave us a 3 and a half hour wait time. What even?! Doesn't matter, we were better off finding Katsu Bar!
When I say this place was DELICIOUS... that is an understatement. We got the Korean Chicken bites as an appetizer with the spicy sauce. This chicken was fried to absolute PERFECTION. And it was piping hot as well! We got the spicy, so I also added the garlic mayo sauce to help cool things down. That sauce was AMAZING.
At this point, hopes are high for the entrees. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint. I ordered the spicy curry udon with pork katsu. My boyfriend got the rosemary katsu sandwich with the pork cutlet and the berry katsu sauce. I tried a bite of the sandwich first and had instant fomo. Sooooo good! My entree was just as delicious.
Would absolutely recommend everyone to come eat here! We will be back again and again.

What a nice quaint restaurant. Tables were nice and the chairs were steel, but comfortable. We went for lunch and I had chicken katsu. It's nice because they serve the katsu sauce in a separate container and you can add it to your katsu and rice as you please. The food was excellent and the portions were just right. I was impressed by the owner who walked by every table and asked if everything was ok, then went back to performing his chef duties. That was a nice touch. That friendly atmosphere and laid back environment was perfect. And the food was delicious!!

After doing some hot yoga, I decided to grab a bite to eat. I've only been to the Cerritos location before a long time ago, so I didn't know that there was actually an extended menu of items. I wanted to lay off eating meat after my workout, so I ordered the tempura cauliflower, portbello mushroom black garlic udon, and the rosemary chicken sando to take home for my husband to eat. I love that my choices felt very light - not heavy. The sauce that came with the tempura cauliflower went really well with the appetizer. I ended up pulling the portbello mushroom from the soup, so that I could still take crispy bites with the soup instead of it turning soggy. Everything was delicious. I even grabbed a strawberry sando to go. The bread was super soft. I did wish that there were more strawberries than cream though. Esther is the person who helped me out. I was watching her work ethnic - and she was super quick and efficient. So shout out to her for holding it down! There's some free parking spots in the shared. There's also a bathroom if you need one.

I'm visiting from Asia and I really loved the food and service! I know people worry about deep-fried food being heavy and oily because I am one of those people, but none of the food we ordered had me feeling that way. :) You can tell they were cooked well and at the right temperature.
Serving size was also huge! Shrimp and mushrooms were sooo juicy and the curry flavor was really nice. 100% would recommend. Most importantly, our server was super friendly and made sure we had a nice stay 💚

First time here 🙋🏻♀️I was having huge cravings for Korean food especially some tteokbokki so I went to the closest spot near me. I tried the tteokbokki and the pork curry. The pork curry came in a very cute packaging 😍 I’m all for presentation and it tasted pretty good. It needs more salad dressing and the portion size of the mac salad can use some love. The tteokbokki comes with glass noodz and it hit the spot. Just sprinkle on some mozzarella and ur golden 😉 would I come back? Yeth

It was my first time to eat there with my friend. Such a nice and clean place to hang out friends 🤩. Taste was good and price was pretty cheap for the portion. Staffs were so kind, my friend and i wanted to order soju but i forgot my ID so I couldn’t get Soju but instead they gave me more beef katsu for free that was so nice of them 😋☺️. I wish other places be like this. I can call it SERVICE for sure. Thank you 🙏🏻

Tried this place after going to Gen across the street and getting turned away by the crowd. Wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by how nicely all the food was fried up and nicely seasoned. I tried their original katsu sandwich with pork and caprese katsu sando with chicken. Both were fried just right and not overdone. The sauces they put on were also very good and will definitely have to come back in the future.

I had all intentions of snapping a picture of the food, but I ate one bite and lost my focus. The food was so good! I got the chicken Katsu plate, and it was so good for the price. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the side salad and pasta salad were great sides. The service was quick and friendly. I would absolutely go back to Katsu Bar if I'm ever craving Katsu again! And I'll get a food pic next time!

This is a very lovely spot. The Hostess was welcoming and attentive. The music was on point. This place is a vibe. We ate half of our orders and were full. The curry was so well seasoned & has a light texture to it, not super thick. The chicken Katsu is so far the best we've had. My son had the shrimp sandwich & he approves. We will definitely come back to try something else. They even have a Nashville hot on the menu!
~ Katrina J
The katsu was perfectly crispy and delicious. The poke bowl was a generous amount. I would go back for the katsu but the poke bowl was just ok. My friend had the udon and it was very plain, no toppings or embellishments, but tasty.
The staff was very friendly and courteous. There is plenty of parking. Not a bad lunch spot as long as you’re going for the katsu.
~ Christine
The food is very good, and prepared very fast. We got our entire order the same time in less than 10 minutes. Everything was fresh and hot. The staff is very friendly and helpful, she explained everything we asked her about the food. The prices are reasonable and affordable. Also you can sit down and eat there, or you can order it for to go.
We will be back soon.

Delicious food. Katsu was perfectly cooked in both the sandwich and the curry noodle. We had the pork katsu. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
Sandwich had a good balance of flavor.
Curry noodles had standard curry flavor but filling and they give you a decent amount.
Definitely would come here again for good katsu.

I was jonesing for a Japanese egg salad sando and found this place that served it. I was just happy we did not have to drive up to downtown LA to be get it from that Japanese sando place (you know the one I am talking about) and also paid less. The sandwich was delicious. Will be back for more and also wish to try to their curry.

I love this place! I got the Kamikaze burger and was thoroughly pleased by the broad spectrum of flavors I experienced with each juicy bite. My friend got the katsu chicken curry with rice, and this curry has to be one of the most flavorful and satisfying curry's I've tasted yet!

Katsu Bar is OPEN AGAIN!!!!! I absolutely adore this place because how simple and delicious their foods are. They may look simple but choices they make to combine katsu with various other foods are genius. My favorite is Caprese Sando. Workers are super nice as well. Go now and check it out guys!!!
~ Sun K
I ordered a Kamakazi Sandwich with tonkatsu! Such deliciousness!! It was less expensive than a chicken sandwich from Pinky's Hot Box half a block away. Weird how they only accepted online orders when no one was there when I picked up my order - off peak hour at 4pm.
~ Stacey K
I used to visit their Orange County and Ktown locations, just found out that a new spot is out here in Torrance. The interior is pretty nice and spacious, with much more choices from the new menu (alcohols too). The rice cake, spam musubi and the signature Katsu sandwich are the best!

First time but I will be back!!! Dave the owner was amazing ! The food was freshly made and delicious . Currently they’re updating their menus and was able to try some new items . Plenty of space, clean and open late which is great for Torrance ! Prices are as well super reasonable.
